So yesterday I went to church with my boyfriend because I usually go with my mom and I wanted to go with him that day. We have both gone to this church for a while but hardly ever together and yesterday I was reminded why. Every time we go there are some stupid, judgmental, and dirty minded adults who stare at us and look at us like we’re two heathens that clearly need help. It makes me sick. When we sit “too close” they tell us “Make room for Jesus!” when we hold hands it’s considered inappropriate, when he had his arm draped on my shoulder we get stared at. WHAT THE HECK???? There have been times where people have come up to me asking why am I with him and that we’re too close and that God is trying to tell us something or else people wouldn’t be coming up to us so much. BULL CRAP. It is none of their business what I do with him. It’s none of their business why I’m with him and it’s none of their business how we interact with each other. I am absolutely tired of it. I’m tired of that church full of hypocrites telling me how to live my life and how to interact with MY boyfriend. And what’s even funnier is that they think we’re doing all these things that we’re not. We’re both still virgins in every sense of that word. The couples the church folk praise so much are the ones who are doing it in the elevators or in the bathrooms. I am so sick of the church’s judgmental ways. I’m sick of it. The entire time in service I was irritated and couldn’t wait to get away from there. If the wouldn’t have been staring and being nosy I might have enjoyed the service. I also find it ironic that they think they’re doing God’s work by “looking out for the youth” or whatever the heck they tell themselves to justify their rude behavior, but I would say that they’re doing the devil’s work more than anything else. And I don’t even know why they’re so interested in us in particular. What have we done to them? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I just wish the church would butt out of my life and get over the fact that I have a boyfriend (since they’re so afraid to say that word). Dangit!
